Purpose |
The purpose of this policy and the related guidelines is:
· to provide guidance to faculties (in conjunction, where relevant, with President-led campuses) developing proposals for new departments and schools or proposing to rename departments and schools; and
· to define the approval process for such proposals. |

Policy Statement |
Proposals for new departments and schools or for the renaming of a department or school must take into account the range of issues canvassed in the Guidelines (see the Supporting Guidelines section below). Full documentation must be submitted first to the relevant faculty board(s), then to the Academic Board and finally to Council for approval. |
