Policy Statement

The Monash University Vacation Scholarships policy has been developed to ensure that the program is administered in accordance with all university, legislative and regulatory principles.

The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage and attract high quality students interested in pursuing a career
in research or academia.

Vacation Scholarships will be awarded on merit and are available only to full‐time enrolled (in the semesters preceding and following the vacation project) undergraduate students who have completed at least the second year of their undergraduate degree and who are not employees of the university. Scholarship holders must undertake research-related activities in the school or department offering the scholarship and must be awarded (paid) a minimum and no more than a maximum amount as set by the Coursework Scholarships Unit in conjunction with faculty departments and/or heads of schools.

The primary purpose of these scholarships is the education of the students. It is not an employment arrangement.
