Monash University aims to attract, select and retain a diverse range of the most capable students. To achieve this Monash has established:
1. University minimum admission requirements that seek to ensure that all commencing students have satisfied standards that demonstrate the potential for success in higher education studies;
2. Additional course specific admission requirements set by faculties to seek to ensure that commencing students have the appropriate academic knowledge and English language skills required for potential success in a particular study program;
3. Selection processes that ensure admission decisions are merit-based, but may be tempered with equity considerations; and
4. Selection processes that ensure admission decisions are transparent, objective and consistent (with points 1-3 above), irrespective of mode of application.
This policy is to be read in conjunction with the Statute and Regulations governing admission to courses and units of study at Monash University. |
