Policy and Procedures Search Page

The Search Page will be available later in 2007. The search facility will allow you to search for a policy by keyword, or within a policy category, or both simultaneously. There is a brief description below of how the search will work.

Search results will be returned as HTML pages. These will print without the Monash banner and side navigation section, but with the “breadcrumb” at the top showing the navigation path, and the date of viewing/printing at the foot of the page. To avoid users retaining out-of-date policies and procedures, they are not available for download.

You will be able to use your Monash portal to set up quick links to your frequently used policies and procedures.

Keyword Search

Enter your keyword/s in the space provided. There will be tickboxes allowing you to delimit your search for keywords or phrases within:

  • policy titles
  • policy statements
  • anywhere in the body of a policy

Note that a search by policy body may return a large number of results. You may tick as many boxes as you like.

Once you have found the policy you are looking for, you can link to its associated procedures.

Category search

To search for policies by category, there will be tickboxes allowing you to select from the categories listed below. These categories are aligned with the university’s organisational structure. Clicking on a + next to a category will expand its subcategories. You may tick as many boxes as you like.

Note that:

  • If you tick “Academic”, all academic policies in all sub-categories will be returned.
  • If you tick “ Education” only policies in that category will be returned.

And so on.
